Book through MaraMara to get the best experience Positive: Two pools, with the rooftop infinity pool being the highlight—offering stunning views and plenty of sunshine. The hotel has a co-working space and a fitness room with a water cooler. The entire property was very clean, and the staff worked hard, constantly cleaning and providing friendly service. The room has a microwave and coffee maker, air-conditioning that worked great, plenty of hot water from a 15L water tank in the bathroom, 2 beach towels, 2 bath towels, and 1 hand towel. We enjoyed our stay overall, mainly because of the hotel’s great amenities, cleanliness, and friendly staff. The location is great, away from most noise and without any steep hills to climb, making it convenient for exploring Sayulita. Negative: The room needs a deep cleaning and attention to detail. The bedroom lacked comfort with only two, very thin pillows, thin sheets that did not look clean (hairs and dirt on them), and no blanket or duvet. WiFi connection was provided but no actual internet. We sent a message asking for the items without a response. The balcony was quite dirty so it was not a place to enjoy or even dry anything outside. More towels should have been available, as the hotel does not maintain this room. Our experience through Booking.com was not ideal. Unbeknownst to us, the room we reserved was privately owned and not maintained by the hotel. In hindsight, we would recommend booking directly with Hotel MarMara, as it seemed like the price would have been the same. Unfortunately, when we originally checked, the hotel had no direct availability, but Booking.com showed open dates—likely due to private listings. Because the room was privately owned, the payment process was different: Booking.com charged our credit card, then after our stay, refunded it, and the owner sent a PayPal link for payment in MX pesos.
